Google Does Web Hosting Too
One of the absolute easiest Web hosting sites to create a personal website on was Google Page Creator. This is the place where I had decided to create my own personal Web site and my online writing resume. Then Google, like Yahoo!, decided to take a good thing and do away with it.
Google hasn't completely closed Google Page Creator yet, I can still access it and everything still works, but I can't recommend you join, because they don't accept new websites anymore.
Insead they opened another Web host and called it Google Sites. It's similar in some ways. It's easy to use, though not quite as easy, and it has a lot of cool features. I do recommend you try it out if you're looking for a place to write a personal website, because it still is one of the easiest places to build a website, and it is free.
The cool thing about creating a website with Google is that you can implement all the Google tools right into it. Add Google calendar onto your website. Add photos using Google's Picasa. Even add spreadsheets and word documents to your website pages with Google's online programs.
