What Is GoDaddy?

My 16 year old son asked me this during the Super Bowl. He kept seeing commercials for GoDaddy but he couldn't figure out what it was. I think he thought it was a site selling dancing girls.. or something.

Now, this is a boy who knows a lot about the Internet and computers so I didn't have to go into too much detail in telling them that they sold Web hosting and domain names. He just didn't get the commercials.

In case you're not familiar with what GoDaddy does, like my son, here's the low down. They will sell you a domain name and host your website for a low fee. They don't have any free hosting services available like a lot of other Web hosting services, but their pay service offers some perks.

GoDaddy does have an easy to use online website builder. This is a plus if you're going to be building the website yourself. They also give you advertising credits so you can advertise your website on sites like Facebook and Google Adwords.

I recommend GoDaddy for any large business that expects to make a lot of sales and have a lot of Web pages. I don't recommend it for smaller businesses because you only get 10 Web pages for $8 something a month. You can do better for a small site. For a large site on the other hand, for $12 something a month you get 1000 pages and everything you need.
